WatchProper Brushing Technique
A quick visual guide to brushing your teeth the right way
Most of the families we see at Brammeier Family Dental are surprised to learn they've been using the wrong angle, the wrong motion, or far less time than they thought. Frequency is only half of it; how you brush counts just as much as brushing twice a day. In under a minute, this short video shows the correct approach.
Why cover the inside and chewing surfaces, not just the visible front? Because any plaque you leave behind starts releasing acid right away, breaking down enamel and irritating gums. To clear it, point the bristles toward the gumline at a 45-degree angle, work in small circular sweeping motions, and concentrate on one or two teeth at a time.
Make that a full two minutes, morning and night, with flossing built into the routine. No home routine catches everything, so a professional cleaning is what clears the hardened tartar a brush can't reach. That's why regular checkups and cleanings remain essential.
Bleeding gums when you brush, or questions about the right brush or technique for you or your kids? Bring it up at your next visit. Our hygiene team takes the time to coach you one-on-one, and small adjustments make a big difference.
